Mungkin Anda pernah dengar pernyataan pendeta seperti ini ketika membicarakan bangsa Israel yang berkeliling selama 40 tahun di padang gurun, "Yang membuat mereka (bangsa Israel) berada di padang gurun selama puluhan tahun bukanlah karena rencana Allah, tetapi karena mereka sering menggerutu," Bila kita membaca Alkitab secara seksama, memang hal inilah yang membuat bangsa pilihan Allah tersebut begitu lama sampai ke tanah perjanjian.
Menggerutu adalah dosa terlalu umum di antara orang-orang Kristiani dan diakui atau tidak, sebagian dari mereka merupakan penggerutu kronis. Mereka terampil dalam menemukan kesalahan seseorang yang secara aktif berusaha untuk melayani Tuhan. Kita pun pernah melakukannya.
Obat terbaik untuk kebiasaan dosa ini adalah kasih yang berasal dari Allah. Itu mudah diciptakan, namun sulit untuk dilakukan. Pertama, kita harus sadar menginginkan apa yang terbaik dari Allah bagi setiap orang. Kasih itu sabar,..murah hati; ia tidak cemburu .... ia tidak melakukan yang tidak sopan dan tidak mencari keuntungan diri sendiri. Ia tidak pemarah dan tidak menyimpan kesalahan orang lain (I Korintus 13: 4-5). Lalu, setelah kita menyadari hal ini maka kita harus tahu menerapkannya dalam perbuatan.
Marilah kita masing-masing refleksi diri pagi hari ini, apakah kita selama ini adalah orang yang menggerutu atau tidak? Jika memang iya, bertobatlah. Jika di kemudian hari Anda sepertinya ingin mencari-cari kesalahan seseorang, lawanlah dorongan itu dan berusahalah melakukan kebaikan bagi orang tersebut (Galatia 6:10). Lakukanlah hal ini dengan setia, dan pada saatnya nanti Anda akan sembuh dari sikap menggerutu.
Menggerutu tidak akan membuat Anda terlepas dari masalah, tapi dengan mengucap syukur Anda kuat menghadapi masalah.

He Never Sleeps
Read: Psalm 121
He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. —Psalm 121:3

Giraffes have the shortest sleep cycle of any mammal. They sleep only between 10 minutes and 2 hours in a 24-hour period and average just 1.9 hours of sleep per day. Seemingly always awake, the giraffe has nothing much in common with most humans in that regard. If we had so little sleep, it would probably mean we had some form of insomnia. But for giraffes, it’s not a sleep disorder that keeps them awake. It’s just the way God has made them.
If you think 1.9 hours a day is not much sleep, consider this fact about the Creator of our tall animal friends: Our heavenly Father never sleeps.
Describing God’s continual concern for us, the psalmist declares, “He who keeps you will not slumber” (Ps. 121:3). In the context of this psalm, the writer makes it clear that God’s sleepless vigilance is for our good. Verse 5 says, “The Lord is your keeper.” God keeps us, protects us, and cares for us—with no need for refreshing. Our Protector is constantly seeking our good. As one song puts it: “He never sleeps, He never slumbers. He watches me both night and day.”
Are you facing difficulties? Turn to the One who never sleeps. Each second of each day, let Him “preserve your going out and your coming in” (v.8).
The Rock of Ages stands secure,

He watches over all His own

Best Job In The World
I've been a mom (mother) for over 15 years now, and along with gaining spider veins, 25 pounds, and a few dozen worry wrinkles, I've also gained knowledge.
For instance, I learned a major lesson when my darling daughter, age 3, put her peanut butter sandwich in the VCR slot. It seemed she wanted to "watch" her lunch instead of "Little Mermaid". Trust me... VCR's do not eject Peanut Butter Sandwiches!
In the twelve years since that sticky incident, I've also learned the following gems of wisdom:
1. A new mom really can get by on 3 hours and seventeen minutes of sleep per night. You could use the bags under your eyes to pack for a cruise, but at least the sweet smell of poopy diapers can act as smelling salts to revive you.
2. If it's 2am and your toddler whines, "Mommy, my tummy hurts!", you have three seconds to react before his stomach contents wind up on your pillow case.
3. A two year old can stuff half a purple crayon up his nose in the time it takes to tie your 4-year-old's shoe.
4. Your proudly potty-trained 3-yr-old will always have to "go" after she's bundled into long underwear, pants, and a snow suit.
5. A mom can have a 102 degree fever, hacking cough, and horrible rash, but she still has to make supper, make a cover for a 6th grade Science book, and take a sliver out of an 8-year-old's finger.
6. If head lice is invading your son's class, he'll pick that day to borrow Josh's comb (even though he usually never combs his hair).
7. A teenager may call your jokes lame -- but she usually repeats them to her friends.
8. Nothing feels better after a hard day at the office, dentist, or tax accountant, than a big hug and sticky "tootsie roll" kiss from your favorite kid.
9. The best presents are not made of gold or silver, but consist of uncooked macaroni noodles glued to a jar and sprayed with paint.
10. Being a Mom is the best job in the world, and it's truly worth the spider veins, extra pounds and extra wrinkles.

SURABAYA FOR JESUS
Event luar biasa ini merupakan bagian dari kegerakan "ASIA FOR JESUS", yang membawa dampak yang besar buat kota yang disinggahinya maupun perwakilan dari negeri2 tetangga yang mengirim utusan untuk mengikuti konferensi Ini.. Konferensi ini digagas oleh Gereja Mawar Sharon.. Acara ini terdiri dari dua acara utama yaitu Konferensi dan KKR... Untuk Conference akan diadain di Gereja Mawar Sharon, di jalan Cempaka, sedangkan buat crusadenya akan diadain di Dermaga Koamartim (FREE)..
Pergerakan yang melibatkan anak muda ini udah menyebar hingga ke Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei dan pastinya Indonesia.. Event ini bener2 sayang untuk dilewatkan, karena dalam Konferensi kita akan mendapat pengajaran dengan mendalam dan ada workshopnya juga.. Untuk crusadenya juga ga boleh dilewatkan karena kita bisa melihat pemandangan luar biasa dari banyaknya orang yang hadir dan berlangsung damai serta bener2 penuh dengan hadirat Tuhan.. Pembicara2 yang mewakili pun, bisa diliat, tidak sembarangan..
Sama2 berdoa aja biar ada REVIVAL yang terjadi lewat kegerakan ini dan mentranformasikan hal2 yang carut marut di sekitar kita menjadi lebih baik.. Doakan pembicara, panitia, cuaca, logistik, perlengkapan, keamanan, dll..
Untuk hal yang baik, baiknya kita bersatu
